Last of the Fresh Air Kiss / Self-Portrait
(From "The World of She" Series)
2012
Original: 11"x14", Digital Composite of Three Photos.
“Last of the Fresh Air Kiss” is
actually a self-portrait. I feel it
represents the survivor in me, and
my ability to adapt to difficult
situations. The split face—half me
and half gas mask represents the
duality of a creative human being
and a destructive aspect of life.
The viewer may ask the question;
what happened to the fresh air?
And why must we kiss it good-bye?
Do it quick and put on your gas
mask!
